Welcome to the official website of The Proposed Hekima University Molo Marathon. By registering for this event, all participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions and to comply with all reasonable directions and decisions made by the event officials and representatives.
1. Event Overview
The Proposed Hekima University Molo Marathon 2026 ("the Event") is a national athletics and fundraising initiative taking place on 8 August 2026 in Molo, Nakuru County, Kenya. It is organised by the Proposed Hekima University and Global Link Marketing in partnership with Athletics Kenya (AK), KPRA, Kenya Red Cross, Jesuit Eastern Africa, and Nakuru County Government.
The Event comprises the following race categories:
- 21KM Half Marathon — All Athletes (International & National) | Start: 7:00 AM EAT | KES 500
- 10KM Open Run — All Athletes | Start: 8:00 AM EAT | KES 500
- 5KM Corporate Challenge — Corporate Teams | Start: 9:00 AM EAT | KES 500/person
- 5KM Community Run — Open to All | Start: 9:00 AM EAT | KES 500
2. Participation Requirements
- The official entry form must be completed fully and accurately by each participant.
- Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of the full entry fee payment.
- Participants must be physically capable of completing the race distance selected at registration. It is the participant's responsibility to undertake the necessary training and medical assessments prior to the Event.
- Participants for the 21KM Half Marathon must be 18 years of age or older on race day.
- Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and must provide written parental or guardian consent at the time of registration.
- The Organiser reserves the right to reject or cancel any registration at its sole discretion.
3. Registration, Entry Fees & Bib Numbers
- All entry fees are KES 500 per person across all race categories.
- Entry fees are non-refundable unless the Event is cancelled by the Organiser (see Refunds & Cancellations).
- Bib numbers are assigned upon registration confirmation and must be worn visibly at all times during the Event.
- Bib numbers are non-transferable. Transferring a registration to another person without written consent from the Organiser is strictly prohibited.
- Bib number ranges: 21KM (11xxx Male / 12xxx Female); 10KM (21xxx Male / 22xxx Female); Corporate (31xxx Male / 32xxx Female); Community (41xxx Male / 42xxx Female).
4. Race Day Rules & Conduct
- Participants must adhere to the official race route at all times. Deviating from the marked course may result in disqualification.
- Headphones are discouraged on the course for safety reasons.
- Participants must comply with all instructions given by marshals, medical personnel, and event officials.
- Any participant found to be behaving in an aggressive, abusive, or unsporting manner may be disqualified and removed from the Event.
- Participants who accept assistance from unauthorised personnel may be disqualified.
- Cut-off times apply: 21KM — 3 hours; 10KM — 90 minutes; 5KM categories — Open (no cut-off).
5. Safety & Medical
Participants acknowledge that running is a strenuous physical activity that may result in injury, illness, or in extreme cases, death. The Organiser, its partners, sponsors, and agents shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, loss, or equipment damage incurred during participation in the Event.
Participants are responsible for their own personal safety, including adequate preparation, hydration, and knowledge of the race route. Medical support will be present along the course; however, participants participate entirely at their own risk.
6. Medals & Awards
- Finisher medals will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete their chosen race distance within the allowed time.
- Special recognition awards will be made for top group performances in the Community Run.
- The Organiser reserves the right to modify award categories at any time.
7. Image Rights & Data Privacy
By registering, participants consent to the collection of their personal data solely for the purposes of event administration. The Organiser reserves the right to use participants' images, videos, and likeness captured during the Event for promotional, commercial, and post-event purposes, including use on social media, print media, and broadcast.
Personal data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law or for the direct administration of the Event.
8. Refunds & Cancellations
- Entry fees are non-refundable if a participant chooses not to participate after registration.
- In the event the race is cancelled or postponed by the Organiser due to circumstances beyond its control (force majeure, government directives, severe weather, etc.), participants will be notified and offered a deferral to the next edition or a partial credit.
- No cash refunds will be issued for event cancellation.
9. Sponsorship & Corporate Entries
Corporate participants and sponsors must comply with the Sponsorship Agreement signed with the Organiser. Corporate bib allocations, branding rights, and VIP access are subject to the terms set out in the respective sponsorship packages.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from participation in the Event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
11. Amendments
The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes via the official website and registered email addresses.
